We're having our reception in the back yard of a close friend who lives on the bay. It's a beautiful oak shaded grassy yard, with a gorgeous view. In order to save money on catering we're going to do a laid-back BBQ with hamburgers and hot dogs. A friend of ours will man the grill and transfer the food into elegant chaffers. Do you all have any ideas for centerpieces, favors, other foods we can serve? Any and all ideas are welcome. Thank you!

We are having a bbq style recepetion too but our is catered.

Anyways a suggestion would be fruit salad, chocolate, vinillia, banana moose. Broccili raisin salad. Or go on foodnetwork.com and just type in backyard BBQ and they will give you tons of ideas.

Don't forget the cocktails

We our having a roasting a hog for ours.. having baked beans and haven't quite decied if we are going to have coleslaw, chips, potato salad, pasta salad or salad with it.

Backyard BBQ's are always a great time! For centerpieces I would check out The Front Door. The table accents section offers favor ideas and centerpiece containers. Also check out the ideas section. You might be able to find something you like there.

Not sure if you have picked your invites, but I would also take a look at the print your own section. They have some BBQ and party themed invites or if you are looking for something more personalized try the photo invites.
