Default Father/Daughter Dance

Any suggestions on a song, my father and I have never lived together and do not share a lot of childhood memories and I am trying to find a not so mushy song that would be appropriate.

Here's a list of Father/Daughter songs. There is a second page as well if you click on the link at the bottom of that page. A few that aren't really "daddy's little girl" songs are, 'Something about the Way you look tonigth', 'Lean On Me', Unforgettable','What a wonderful world'....or you could do something fun and quirky (if that's your style), like 'We built this city on Rock and Roll'...

Remember to have fun....and it's never to late to start making those 'Father/Daughter' memories.

How about "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton or "I Loved Her First" by Heartland , "Fathers Eyes" by Amy Grant.

I would feel the same way you do. I'm not even having a father daughter dance. I'm not sure what would be a good song. I'm not even having the father daughter dance. We're having a mommy/son and daddy/daughter dance with our two children. This way our children feel included also. I don't have a father and my step dad I love to death and he's walking me down the asile but I just wouldn't feel right doing a dance becasuse I wasn't daddy's little girl either. Good luck with finding a song. Don't forget you could always switch it up too, to make you more comfy about it also.

The Father/Daughter dance song was a very hard one for me. I luckily have a wonderful stepdad that is giving me away and we're dancing to "I Loved Her First" by Heartland. It was really hard to find a song because most songs aren't written for a stepdad/daughter.

I think Wonderful Tonight is a great suggestion. Really any song that is more about you than the father/daughter connection would work.

Good Luck.

A good not so sappy song is My Girl, my best firend used it and they just had a lot of fun with it.

I am not that close to my dad at all. My first wedding, I did have him walk me down the aisle and did the father/daughter dance and we danced to "When You Say Nothing At All" by Alison Krause. It worked well because even though we don't talk much, I know he loves me. We've grown even further apart since then (almost 7 years ago) so this time I'm not doing either.

A friend of mine got married in March and had the same type of relationship with her father. They danced to Somewhere Over the Rainbow. It's pretty, but also generic enough so it doesn't have a lot of meaning to it.
