I am trying to combined one table into a memorial for the deceased grandparents, guest sign in, a box for cards and a smaller box for wishes for the bride and groom. Is that too much to put onto one table?

How big is the table?
Seriously though, I think it depends on how much it's all going to amount to. Usually the 'In Memory of' items are displayed and mentioned at the ceremony. This could be a candle or a inscribed vase with flowers. Your guestbook should be placed on a podium or stand next to the main entrance or gift table to get those who only came to the reception, or missed it at the church. As for the card box, if you have a table for presents, or room next to the guest book, that would be a good location. Having so many things in one spot, often creates a bottle neck or pile up of people. Having things spaced out can allow the room to flow. Whatever you decide, remember to enjoy your day...it's not about the million tiny details...it's about one big celebration. ![]()

What about honouring them with a favourite family picture that has them in it? As neither of our fathers will be present at the wedding we will be having two seperate large picture frames with collages of pictures in them that will have pictures of all of our loved ones (one of my side of the family, one of his) It will be a subtle memorium of them but it will still be there and honour them in a way that is respectful and special.
