Question Too early to book?

We already know where we want to have the ceremony/reception. Our big day isn't until 2010 ~ is it too early to book right now? Quite a few people have told me to book it already for two reasons. #1 to ensure we have the place and #2 so we'll be locked into the price that was already given. That's one thing I am affraid of. We were quoted $1,000 to rent this place for the full day. I just don't want it to go any higher that that lol. What does everyone think?

as long as the venue will let you book, def. go for it! and this gives you time to also pay them off and not be stressed.

Thanks dani. I'm actually in the process of emailing the venue right now. Does anyone else feel that it's a dream sometimes? lol Like, we're planning and planning away, but sometimes I sit here and feel like a little girl just playing make believe lol. I guess it'll feel more real when I start dishing out all my money haha.

Mmhmm, I know exactly what you mean. My day is still quite awhile away, but still...feels like it'll never happen. Thank God for this site though, really. I feel like I'm the only one who's excited bout this. I mean yeah, my fiance is excited but of course he or any other man is not gonna get excited like us girls lol. I'm talking about my mom and such. Call me crazy but, isn't the mother of the bride supposed to be super happy for her daughter and everything? My mother is just like....euh a 'whatever' kinda attitude. I don't know what to make of it.

I know what you mean - mine is les than six months away and it feels like a fantasy. My parents aren't involved in my life so I am doing all of the planning all on my own - I started about three months ago. I think that maybe your mom feels she has time to get excited given it's in 2010. Give her time. Also - if you can book the venue - go for it. It will be one less thing to worry about, have to pay for and have to scramble to find a new one in the event it's booked. Get that item checked off your list!!!

Oh I hear ya. We talked to the owner of the farm yesterday and she said it would only be $200 to hold it. So that's not bad at all. We're deffinatly booking that real soon. It was amazing seeing this place in person rather than pics on the net. Everything just comes to life. Oh my gosh that's right, everyone can go and look at it lol. www.chaimberlainfarm.com and then click on pavilion on the left hand side. Lemme know what ya think.

Isn't it awesome? I stumbled upon it this past October (before I was even engaged lol), because this place also does a haunted cornfield for Halloween. I remember going there when I was a kid, so I thought it would be cool to do it again. Then I saw that pavilion, which they didn't have up until a couple of years ago. So that was deffinatly a good find for me.
My colors are like a rust orange and chocolate. As far as the orange, I've been coming across so many colors that would work just as nicely. Such as pumpkin and terracotta. So we'll see what happens with that. But yeah, I love planning parties and everything. Getting to plan my own wedding has been great so far. It's going to be using such simple things for decorations, but when put all together, it's going to have a rustic yet elegant look. I can't wait to see everything! I plan on going back there and walking around with a notepad and pen. That way I can really plan in detail where certain decorations will go and everything.

haha. i had to chuckle when i read that. my mom is the SAME way..and it actually hurts me. we was really close when i was growing up, and my older sis eloped, so this is her last chance to see one of her daughters have a real wedding. idk if its because ive moved out and am getting married, "growing up" or other reasons, like its a bad idea, etc.idk. oh well, she'll have to accept it if she dont like or if she does.

btw, i love your colors!
