Question Wedding Favors

I went to a wedding once and the wedding favors were put out so that at the end of the night people would take one. I'm afraid that if I do that people will take more than one and some will be left without favors. How do I go about giving them out, or setting it up? I'm open to any ideas

A popular method that I've seen done at a lot of weddings is having the favors setup at the tables. Depending on the type of favor, you can work them in as part of the centerpieces, or simply place them as part of the individual place settings. This way everyone that sits to eat, ends up with one if they want one.

If this doesn't make sense, you could always have someone hand them out to the guests as they arrive at the reception. This way, you don't miss anyone that leaves early, and you won't have a disgruntled niece to deal with who pulled door duty all night .

Those are just a few thoughts. What kind of favors were you thinking?

I'm having the heart shaped measuring spoons as the favors and I'm putting them inside the Organza bags

I was gonna put mine right at the place settings, because you're right people might take more then one. This way you know that everyone had one to take home.

I may have to look into that CD idea. That is a great idea!! We were planning on having shot glasses that are personalized at each place setting, along with little cards that have a bell tied into a heart-shaped cut out. I guess those would be easy things to pocket, so I may have to re-think that one.

I wish I had a better suggestion for you, tho.

Depending upon the type of favor you have - here is a suggestion.

You can use little tags that have a hole punched into them a put a ribbon through the tag and attach it to your favor. On the tag you can have your names and wedding date.

Or... as I know a few brides have done, they use the tags attached to the favor as place cards also. So the tag would have your guests name and table # they are sitting at, and its attached to the favor.

Good luck!!

If you hand out your favors either before or after the ceremony, that's just one more thing to have to coordinate. And as I see it, us brides have enough to think about that day! It's just one more thing that could go wrong.

Here's what I'm doing for my favors: I'm filling white netting fabric (like tulle) that comes in pre-cut circles (got them from Invitations by Dawn) with hot tamales and nuts (my favorite snack!) and tying it together with ribbon. But I'm personalizing it by printing "The Bride and Groom's Address" tags and punching a hole in them and stringing them through the ribbon. I bought business cards at Wal-Mart and am using them for the favor tags.

So it'll be a little cute snack and have our names and address/e-mail on it. I thought this would be nice because for one, everyone loves food! And for two, I hate going to weddings and not knowing how to get in touch with the couple afterwards (because so many people move or whatever). I'm putting them at each place setting ahead of time. One more thing off my to-do list!
