Hello All! I am having an early Fall wedding... sept 5, 2008... As of right now i have picked mostly red as my color... the BM's will be wearing black dresses but that is about where the black stops... They will carry red freedom roses with a few flame callas to add some punch to the bouquet... the ceremony is on a terrace but the reception is inside... can anyone provide some ideas on how to dress up the terrace? I should be light out for the ceremony but the cocktail hour (which is outdoors may start getting dark)

I'm having an outdoor, October/2010 wedding. Ceremony and reception will be outdoors. The site we chose has a pavilion, so I plan on putting white miniture lights all around the railings, entwined with strands of artificial fall leaves. Since your wedding will be in September, maybe switch fall leaves for apples. Especially because your main color is red, I think that'll look awesome. I'm sure you could find strands of articial apples in a craft store. Then you could always embelish the apple theme and have real apples in tall cylinders with a strand of white lights inside. Or use real apples and float them in a bowl of water with some floating candles.

Your in luck...on a terrace you will still have access to electricity. Stringing white lights is a great idea...for another choice try huricanne lanterns, a lighted waterfountain(you can rent these) or tikki torches(they make some really nice ones now, but don't used citronella...unless of course you need it) Buy a large plant or small tree...decorate with flowers to match your wedding, white lights, maybe a little tulle...instant specimen.
