Has anyone considered using a cupcake wedding cake or seen one at a reception? My fiance and myself both want one. I've been looking at them on the internet and I really like them but I've never seen one personally. His step-mom went to a wedding recently where they had one and she thought it was really nice. However, his mom and sister don't want us to have one. It's something that is different and will be easier (I think). His mom and sister not wanting us to have one makes me want it even more
I probably shouldn't say that but it does. In fact, his mom told me I was not having one! What does everyone think? |

So, I am having a cup cake tree thing at my wedding but i am also incorporating a traditional fondant cake to be placed on the top with my cake topper.
you could consider that one and look at it as a compromise for you and your FMIL. |

I went to a wedding a couple of years ago that had cupcakes for the wedding cake. It was an outside wedding, and the cupcakes were gorgeous (Chocolate with cream colored icing... yum). As an added touch, they had the recipes for the cupcakes and the frosting in thier wedding programs.
Cupcakes are very versitile, you can make them whimsical and fun, or they can be elegant, or somewhere in between. I say go for it, everybody loves a good cupcake! |
