Intro Music:
One wedding I went to, the came in the reception with "Ray of Light" by Madonna playing. That was pretty cool. I think that "Stary Eyed Suprise" and "Beautiful Day" are good songs as well. Dinner Music: Should be something really mellow and relaxing. |

I just updated my website with information on just this topic. Feel free to check it out at Todays Destination Weddings - Planning - Suggestions
I will be adding a page on cocktail and dinner music in a few days, as it is in process right now. Best of luck! ![]() |

I like the Michael Buble and Jack Johnson suggestions, I love them both. Definately something relaxing that people won't have to yell over to talk to each other. Enough to notice it's there, but not notice it's there at the same time.

At our wedding, we plan on having the bridal party introduced to 'come on feel the noise' by Quiet Riot. My FH and I will be introduced to 'we will rock you' by Queen. Can ya tell we're hockey fans? lol
I agree with dinner music being relaxed and light....but not so light were your guests are falling asleep in their salads lol. We plan on having our DJ play a variety of oldies such as The Temptations, Jerry Lee Luis, The Supremes, ect. |

I think you need to think of a vibe for the introductions. Are you looking to make it fun and contemporary or, elegant and traditional? If you want to keep it fun you can play anything from Black Eye'd Peas "Let's Get it Started", Natasha Bedingfield "love like this", Madonna "4 minutes" or Classic 70's/80's like "ain't no mountain high enough", "Walking on SUnshine" etc...or you can play old school "Fly me to the moon", "Isn't it Romantic" "just the way you look tonight"
Same thing with background music..what is the feel you are going for? Old school play classics or contemp norah jones, michael buble. I think a nice mix is awesome. If you are using a deejay even consider giving him a CD of your favs ...if it is a band give the bandleader a list of song suggestions for background music. Deanna Jones Music At Your Wedding |

Hey, you need to know which mood you want your weddin to be in first...
If you want it subtle, intimate and romantic, you could look for violin instrumentals... But if you do have your own preference, just think about the mood that you like your wedding to be in. And that's it. For the intro music, choose one which is closest to you and your hubby's heart. ________________________ There is no perfect wedding. We all need something to laugh back at 30 years later. |
