I would say as long as it's not going to be a huge inconvenience for people to come the first weekend for your wedding and then have to come again the next weekend for oyur reception. I know a few couples who did something similar to that. It was spaced out a little more but the same general thing.

Thanks guys - I think this is the best bet but change again. My fiance wants to do the ceremony on that Friday and the reception Saturday. The guest list coming to the actual wedding 17 - those are our true close friends and their families and completely are down for what we plan. Saturday will be an all out affair where it's buffet so anyone can come help us celebrate. I already have many volunteers to help with food. My fiancee and my two girls have been through so much that we felt a very quiet intimate wedding with those that truly care about our vows and us finally being able to make them that I am loving this idea more. Now - one more question - The friday of the ceremony it will be around 2:00 - all have agreed to take the day off for the wedding so that's great - to I treat the guests to dinner the night before? Maybe have a dessert selection somewhere to toast? Any ideas - I am stuck on this one! I'm a tricky bride to b arent' I

it would be sweet of you to treat them in addition to the reception. Are you two paying for it all yourselves, or are parents helping? I feel like thats a job for the groom's parents
