I know at the rehearsal dinner, I would like to give a small speech or a toast. Is that okay as far as etiquette goes?

Some of the ones that I have been to - the bride and/or groom will give a speech and then hand out their gifts to the parents, bridal party etc.

I think it would be the perfect time to thank who you need to thank and whatever you need to say because it is more intimate and special.

At my sister's wedding, there were many quick toasts at the rehearsal dinner - my father, his father, the best man, and a few other close friends. Each speech was quick and very different...and I really felt like a got to know my sister and her FH much better.

I think I most likely will give a toast Gavin (future hubby . . . yay!) does not like talking in front of each other people and can sometimes be very introverted! But most likely it will be thanks for coming love ya'll!!! and that's about it!
