......as to where we can have our rehersal dinner. We want it to be a place that has good food and service, but we also want it to be laid back and not cost us an arm and a leg. We thought of this pizza place that's about 45 minutes away from where we live, but when we went there a couple of weeks ago, the waitress told us our party would have to be at least 30 people. And of course, including our parents and ourselves, the wedding party is only 15. GRRRRRRRR. So now we're back to square one.

Is it tacky to just have the wedding party come to our house for dinner? My mother told me that's what she did for her wedding, but that was back in 79' lol. I'm just trying to think of something tasteful yet relaxed to say thank you to everyone, without breaking the bank.

No its not tacky...Many people choose this option as a cost savings and convenience. Another popular choice if you are having a church wedding is the church fellowship hall...again cost savings and convenience.

I am having a cookout at my house after the rehearsal. This way, everyone can bring their spouses and what not. It will be laid back and cost effective.

It would be so cost affective, and everyone would be more apt to relax, and it will help them be ready for YOUR big day!

I think it's a great idea to have the rehersal dinner at your house. A cookout would be fun. Everyone will be much more relaxed and have a great time. It would be more cost effective and you won't have to worry if you are making too much noise and you won't have to be out of the restaurant by a certain time. Enjoy it!

Thats what we are doing too! We are going back to my fiance's parents house after the rehersal! I really want a laid back fun night, no dressing up or having to be anywhere on time = ) Just time to talk eat and drink ; )
