Too big of a bridal party?
Hey everyone! My bridal party is SO big. We have 9 bridesmaids, a Jr bridesmaid, 2 flower girls, 9 groomsmen, a Jr groomsman, and 2 ring bearers! Do you think that is too many? We both have a lot of siblings and wanted them all in the wedding, plus our friends. Everyone thinks we are crazy for having so many!

As long as you can deal with all of the people and work out an arrangement for who pays for waht(they pay for their own clothes etc.) i think that it would work. What is a junior bridesmaid???
We are having 4 bridesmaid, groomsmen, one flower girl, the dog and ny future little tiny nephew. plus we are using horses and carriages!!

Re: Too big of a bridal party?
Hopefully everything will go smoothly! I Jr bridesmaid? I was a Jr bridsmaid before. A Jr bridesmaid is someone who is too old to be a flower girl, but too young to be a bridesmaid. Same with the Jr groomsman as well.
Horses and carriages sounds so nice. I was going to do that too but we are doing a trolley instead. That way our entire bridal party will be able to fit all together! LOL!

Re: Too big of a bridal party?
as long as you can handle having that many you're fine. After all it's your wedding and I think it's great you wanted to include everyone. I was just at a wedding where they had 3 flower girls, and 3 ring bears. I thought it was cute having so many. I would have 2 of each also but out of everyone I'm the only one with a girl. Evryone else has boys. I think it's just perfect though and ignore what people say it's your day. And if all those people are okay with it and you are then who cares what other people think. And just remember everyone is gonna have an opion and usually it's againest what you think or do. So let it go in one ear and the other. You have enough stress of planning the wedding don't let something people say stress you too. Good luck

Re: Too big of a bridal party?
I am a firm believer in "Its your special day, you do whatever you want!" But I wanted to caution you on two points:
1) If you have an ultra-formal wedding etiquette states that you should have 1 groomsman or usher (whoever is escorting people to seats) for every 50 guests.
2) As a guest if you have an enormous wedding party, either too many to fit the front of the church or more than the guest list, it can be overwhelming for the guests.
Ultimately its your day and you should do what you think is right and best. My DJ said when we met with him the first time "Its your day and you can't mess up because of that."

Re: Too big of a bridal party?
As a wedding and event planner, the only thing I can say is that you should be careful to not let others step on each others toes. I know for a fact that coordinating all those people will be hard, if you don't have a wedding planner. Its not to many. I've actually done a wedding where there were ten bridesmaids and groomsmen for each and still others in the wedding. So, you haven't reached the really high limit. Just lay down the ground rules and tell them if they're paying for their own things or if you are paying. Lay everything down in the beginining so there are NO problems come the day of.

I agree with everyone else in that it's YOUR day. I think the main thing with attendants is knowing that the people that are standing beside you are people that you love and trust and who you know will be there for you through out your newly married life.
