Default Grandparents Role in Wedding

Are your grandparents doing anything special in your wedding, reception? Are they in the program, are you taking a special photo with them, are they making a toast?

My 85 yr old spunky grandma (she's still wearing 5 inch heels) just recently strongly hinted that she's never been in a wedding then asked if she could be in mine. We're not doing a whole lot traditionally so I asked if she wanted to be a bridesmaid and she said no so she's going to walk down the aisle with the wedding party and maybe read something. If anyone has any other 'special' ideas... I'm open!

I think a reading is nice or a toast, as far as the photos that is up to you.

My grandfather died in 1994 and my grandmother passed awayin Sept 2006, so I will not have them at my wedding. My fiance and I have decided to do a special tribute in our program to both my grandparents and to his, who are also deceased, and to have a memorial tree with ornament-style pictures of them all at the reception. You are very lucky to have them with you so you should find a special way to recognize them-perhaps a lovig triute in the program and display pictures of their wedding days on a table at the reception. You could even do a version of the "father/daughter" dance only for the grands. Good luck and enjoy your day.

Yes, I agree! In marriages the parents are main role in wedding. We don't have the parents support we can do marriages. They are the main role for wedding.
