So, I'm big, but my bridesmaid's even bigger. I've found plenty of places that offer plus sized dresses, but they offer exclusively plus sized, and I've got a couple of toothpicks as bridesmaids, too. Since I want my dresses to be the exact same color, buying from separate places isn't really an option. I've found several options of lines that carry sizes small enough for my small girls, but that only go up to size 28 for the plus sized gal. My problem is, I'm not sure if she is larger than that or not. How in the heck can I ask her without sounding incredibly rude?

I wouldn't feel bad asking her what size she is; she had to expect the question at some point during this whole adventure. I picked out the dresses I wanted my bridesmaids to wear and have let them go and try on their own sizes; one being a plus size and one being a smaller size. If for any reason they can not arrange to wear what I initially chose then I will just look for another option. When it all comes down to it, my dress is the main focus....
Good luck with everything. |

When I went into David's Bridal for my first wedding dress trying on experience, they asked me my dress size and I had no idea because I never wear dresses lol. So, they then asked me my jean size (apparently it's about the same). They also said dresses tend to run small and most women need a size or two bigger than what they usually are. Take me for example; I usually get a 16/18 for my jeans and pants...but in a wedding dress, I need a freakin 20/22 ! Yeah, it is a bit of a blow to your self asteem but just try and remember that you're not actually that bigger size lol. I almost went into tears in the dressing room until the assistant helping me explained the whole dress thing lol.
