Question How many is too many??

First Kirk (fiance) says " I don't want anything big" so I try to keep the guest list short and sweet, and the "extras" to a minimum.

Theeeennnnnnn he rambles off a list of 15 groomsmen!!! And says that he doesn't want to hurt anyones feelings! We are going to triple our budget just to spare people feelings.

GAh! I only have 6 bridesmaids. 15 is ridiculous, so I told him he HAS to cut it to 10,and even that is too many.

I think that 10 and 15 is to many. How about making some of them ushers? Six groomsmen and then the rest could be ushers or something like that? I think they could work has ushers. Or have a special table for them at the reception. Just some ideas!

Yes I agree 10 is still too many. He has a lot of close friends, but come on!
He is making me crazy about this.

What if you did something called a house party? It would give them a title and make them part of the wedding. I read about it when Jenna Bush got married. She didn't have any bridesmaids but she had 14 people in the house party. I don't know what they did but they had a part in the wedding!

I couldn't even imagine having 15 people in the bridal party! They would drive me all crazy! But I do think it is cool that he wants them all involved. I think that is very sweet!

Lightbulb Re: How many is too many??

Try this have the 15 over for a bbq and have them draw straws the 6 with the shortest straws are in the wedding the rest are not.
My cousin did this with her friends for her wedding and no one was hurt then she threw those names in a bucket to pick the MOH.

Play up the bbq with your FH and the money issues and this may just work.

It would make 30 people in the bridal party not including us! I mean it all adds up gifts for all of them and then the more people you have to deal with the more "drama" (ie, being late, issues coming up etc) So he HAS o cut it down. I don't know about the house party thing, but we are going to have to figure something out.

Thats a good suggestion but a few of them live out of state, he will have to narrow it down BBQ or not, or else I am not going to be happy and then he wont be happy
