Does anyone have any ideas on what theme's you could incorporate into a wedding that was held outside in the summer?

I am also getting married outdoors this summer, and worked with a wedding designer. She suggested 3 different possible themes for our wedding. One was using the flowers from the bouquet- hydrangeas, the second suggestion was butterflies, since we will be releasing butterflies at the ceremony. Last idea was to use fireworks since we are having fireworks that evening after the reception. I think you should try to find something you and your husband to be both like or something with a thread through the wedding. That is my best advice. Would love to know what you choose or come up with

Congratulations everyone! I am getting married on September 29th, 2007 in New England. I would like to include some fall accents without seeming overly "country". I found a picture of an apple centerpiece. Bright red apples were shined and placed in a crystal fruit bowl. I like the idea, however, I don't want it to look like a kitchen table...a little more formal would be nice. I was thinking of having tall vases and filling them with the red apples and then having just a few (maybe 3) long stem cala lillies standing in.
Does anybody have any other ideas? Is this too tacky? We are looking for a simple, elegant look. I can picture what I want in my head, but haven't been able to find a picture of it that I can show anyone to help explain. Any other ideas are much appreciated!

hajohnson~ I am also getting married outside, and I don't know if we really have a theme, but I am using daisies as my main flower, flower girl dresses are white w/ daisies on them, favors are chocolate daisy lolipops. and all decorations have lots of daisies in them. I guess we were going for a kinda "country summer" theme if I had to chose a theme. But you could use an flower you like in a similar way. Also butterflies would be nice, or a garden theme.

good idea on the apples. i saw an example of that on"whose wedding is it anyway" but they used green granny smith apples. i am new to this forum, but you guys are awesome.
