Default Help

My name is Melinda and we are getting married in December and I am so lost as to what to do. My fear is it will be the day of the wedding and everything will not be done. I'm trying my best to not over spend. Also I can't find the proper name for my color, some people say its summer green, some say lime green, some even say shocking green but its a really lite bright green so if anyone knows whats its called please let me know. I'm open to evey and all suggestions.

Bride to be
Melinda

Hi Melinda!!
Congratulations on your engagement and wedding plans!
The ladies here are really helpful on lots of things, so go ahead and ask all sorts of questions, chances are, someone has the same thought.

We bought a planning book, its AMAZING! The Complete Wedding Planner and Organizer by Elizabeth and Alex Lluch; published by wedding solutions. They have done several wedding planners, so they pretty much have things covered and laid out in a logical order. Another helpful planning tool to make sure you catch everything is TheKnot.com, its free, its wonderful.

Ask friends and family that have recently gotten married what their biggest mistakes was, who the best area vendors are, etc. Remember: asking for advice is not forcing you to take their advice. But they have just gone through the same process, they may have some tips.

As for your green color.... I don't know, we are taking our fabric swatches to a paint store to get a better name (and the exact color mixture). Many paint stores are now "able" to scan your color into their computer and duplicate it in paint or at least the print out of the info for a small fee. Even just comparing your color to the available free paint chips.

Dear Melinda,

It's not too late to get help from a wedding planner. With their help all your wedding details like staying on budget will be organized for you. If not you can go to your local bookstore and buy a wedding planner book which outlines the deadlines for each step of your wedding. Also, remember if you are planning this alone to delegate responsibilities to friends and family because you will need a lot of help with all the differnet arrangements.

As for your color it's hard to know what color it is without seeing it or knowing where your chosen color comes from. However, if you found this color at a fabric store for example they will have all the swatch information so that it can be matched. It may be easier to pair your color (i.e. summer green) with complimentary colors, like shades of white & other light pastels rather than trying to make everything in that exact shade of green.

No matter what your wedding day will be a huge success, remeber it's about marrying the person you love that's what counts most!

Congratulations and best wishes for a beautiful wedding day.
