Talking 8/8/08 INFINITY date?

Hey all...

I'm getting married on 8/8/08.

We have 8 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen. We are planning on having our first dance announced at 8:08:08 pm (about one hour into our recpetion). We have the infinity symbol built into our wedding logo design. And we're thinking of having the infinity symbol also engraved into our wedding bands.

Does anyone share our wedding date?

What other ideas are out there to incorporate this into our theme?

Thanks,
Jess

Good question! This year, we had offered theme invitations for July 7, 2007, a very popular day for weddings to take place, and we may offer theme-related products for August 8, 2008 weddings next year.

For a wedding theme, I recommend structuring your wedding around another visual like hearts or a pair of wedding rings, to make it easier to find wedding reception decorations. If you're sold on using the infinity symbol as a theme, then you can enhance this symbol through custom-printed decorations like personalized bookmarks or napkins. Depending upon the size of your wedding, you could do a lot with ribbon and metallic markers to customize your favors.

Hope that helps!

Here is how we had the infinity symbol incorporated with our wedding logo (I have a friend who is a graphic designer who did this for us)

Hi all,

I too am getting married on 8/8/2008.
I got a lot of ideas from an article I found. In fact, we are planning to "adopt" quite a few. You can read it if you go to
Discount wedding gifts, accessories, print your own invitations, planning a wedding day on a budget.
Oh did you know that to the Chinese the number 8 stands for "good fortune" and that the summer Olympics open on our wedding day?
I love fun tidbits.

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!

Favorite quote:

"According to Chinese culture, 8 is a Lucky number that stands for prosperity and good fortune. Triple it and you got a lucky 888-wedding day. When you take the numeral 8 and turn on its side 8, it becomes the symbol for infinity - forever. This is a symbol most fitting to represent love and the beginning of a marriage."

And also this:

8 IDEAS FOR 8

So, you plan a day full of 8 s and looking for ideas, Have something special happen at your wedding on 8/8/8 at 8:08. Start the ceremony, or exchange vows or rings, or have the toast to the bride and groom, or the first dance or cutting the cake at that time. Seat 8 guests per table. Serve 8 different hors d'oeuvres, 8 courses in the meal, and 8 sweet deserts. Have eight adults in your wedding party Have eight different flowers in your bouquet. Have 8 items in your centerpieces, Instead of an 8-tier wedding cake you may have 8 single layer cakes placed either side by side or on various height pedestals on your cake table.

Hi all,

I too am getting married on 8/8/2008 that falls on a Friday.
I got a lot of ideas from another article I found.
On a Budget? Have you Considered A Friday Evening Wedding?
You can read it if you go to
wedding planning articles- plan a wedding day on a budget, theme weddings, remariage and blending family wedding
and scroll down the articles list.
It tells why Friday is becoming popular for weddings and gives many money saving tips and ideas .

you know what though? every vendor i asked about a savings from due to it being a friday, answered with something along the lines of "yes, normally there would be a discounted fee, etc.. etc.. however due to the high demand for this date... blah, blah, blah..."

so i am spending what i would be for a saturday wedding, unfortuantely.
