Default Flowers???

I'm doing a small ceremony, outside at a resort. No decorations or anything like that. I was thinking for my flowers (I don't want a "traditional" bouquet) maybe a dozen deep red calla lilies, with 1 white one, or the same with long-stem roses.

Edit: After researching the prices of calla lilies online, I'm thinking that silk may be more my speed. Any suggestions for good looking silk callas?
what do you ladies think???

I think that silk will look just as nice a the reall thing. Plus, you'll have them to cherish forever. As far as where to get them, I would look into any good craft store in your area.

I'm going with both fake roses and fake callas. I highly reccommend Hobby Lobby for flowers. They have real touch roses for 2.99-3.99 a stem, but they have 50% off sales frequently...that's the time to go. Also, Joann fabrics sells something that gives it the look of real stems should you want that look. The fake stems you get will be too long and thus will need to be trimmed, but the wires caused me problems. When I found this thing, I was so excited. For $9.99, you get a ball of foam to stick the silk flowers in, with realistic stems hanging down. It looks very nice (if I can, I'll try to get pictures.) My colors are hot pink, teal, and white, so I went with white mini callas and pink and pink-tipped roses. Both the callas and the real touch roses look VERY real. I think I was able to do all of my flowers (boutinnieres, bridesmaids flowers, corsages, and my own flowers) for about $150 by doing fake ones. I highly recommend it if you can't afford the real thing.:-) There are also some sites online that you can order a realistic fake bouquet for less than fresh flowers, but they're pre-made, usually, and you don't get the choice of flowers you would if you did it yourself. Just a thought from someone who's been there and done that;-) Good luck!
